About Me
For several years, I have worked as an administrative assistant at a substance abuse treatment center. When I first started the job, I thought that drug addicts were weak people who needed a place to clean up. I couldn't have been more wrong, most of the patients I met were some of the strongest people I had ever known. Through my work, I learned that addiction is a sickness and addicts are unable to control themselves. Some addicts turn to drugs to quell the pain of a bad family life, while others try to treat depression and other mental illnesses with alcohol. I am telling my story and providing substance abuse information, so you can understand the complicated nature of addiction.
